Not knocking you brother, but I hope a modern LRF with an advertised 4000 yard range will out perform a 15 year old design rated for 1500 yards. But it sure says something about that Swaro if you are using it for this comparison. I have had one for over a decade and it's been used overseas, in comps, in training and many a hunt. I just recently (October) got a newer LRF, the Sig 2400ABS, but kept the Laserguide as a great backup.I love my razor hd 4000. Way better then the swarovski i had in terms if ranging objects. It is way lighter then my swarovski which i also really like and it is more compact and easier to switch between modes. I have ranged a bridge delineator at 4245yds with no problems and with ease. Have also ranges trees out to 3000 yards and black bears out to 1200 yds. Cant say enough about this rangefinder. I will say though i dont have a lot of experience with other rangefinders however with this Vortex Razor HD 4000 i really enjoy it. If you have any other questions i can try answer them.

Have fun with the Vortex!
If a $500 LRF will range past 4K then it is definitely no slouch! So far seems like money well spent. Can't wait to see how it does on critters. Y'all keep us posted.Yeah no worries. Like i said i dont have a lot of experience with rangefinders so my thoughts might not be as helpful to others with more experience. i like the vortex for sure. I am sure the could be better ones out there but the only ones i have had have been the swaro and a old leupold.

I am tagging in on this one - I am also interested in this to replace my Leupy.
Got one on order.Has anyone done a review on the Razor HD 4000, or can anyone that owns/has used one give their thoughts on it?
