What! Take My Guns?

Please dont get me wrong..I love the USA and I am no felon and have never as an adult been in any trouble with the law. We keep hearing about our rights being slowly being taken from us. My chief (a friend who I respect from Flint Michigan)of police told me there is no way in hell the police are gona kick in the doors of homes looking for any rifles, shotguns, hand guns, or muzzel loaders. There would be a lot of widows and I wont risk my police force on this endever, when you have people that would gladly let a shooter on there roofs or in there shrubs only to shoot to kill any one who even trys to confiscate guns from over a 1000yards its nuts to think this law would hold water, I would never order the officers under me to follow those orders. Now the guys in our armed forces lets start with the Rangers,
they are some of the best guys I ever have known, (they have been a great coach) they said if the President made any order for the confiscation of all firearms, the Military would disobay the order and most likley it would be a death wish for that leader." there would be a Colt 1911 with one bullet and a bottle of Scotch with a request for that person to take a walk outside". The words are a quote from an Officer I know well, he said they have hashed this over again and again and there has never been any one who disagrees with this. It would be a death wish.
I know 12 guys in the Marines and they said the same thing...the only diference is there would be a killing in the White House..Taking the guns from honest people will never happen.

Now I am sure some will think I am wrong or even a nut for saying this. Please ask any member of our armed forces if this situation has ever been spoken among one another and what would happen if given this order?

As I said I have never been a felon, I dont drink anything even wine/beer and I dont smoke pot or tobacco, I have no record of violence to my wife or children or neighbors.
I have never been a gun-grabber or anti- hunter and I dont associate with racists.
I love GOD with all my heart and every ounce of strength I have.

they don't have to take the guns away if they make ammo immpossible to obtain. I have read in the last american hunter about keycoding ammo and disposing of the ammo that isn't. I am more worried about them making ammo so expensive that the normal person can't even afford to shoot.

one example is lead bullets in the habit of the condor they have no ben banned.

I to am like you, I don't drink and the only law breaking was in my youth and it was speeding.

It's already been done, it included a broken arm/shoulder of an elderly woman in NOLA, and it was filmed! It has been done door to door in Illinois by the Chicago Police. Those who say they will not obey will not be forced to and those who do so willingly will be the ones to do it. At Twenty Nine Palms, there was a questionaire already given to the marines, it was NOT 100% against disarming civilians. It's already here. They will simply give you a label, and your guns will be taken. Their usual modus operandi is: "child abuser", "mental patient", etc. If you come back from serving your country with a mental disturbance from the insanity of war, you WILL NOT be allowed to buy a gun. I live in Illinois. We are currently in a gun grabbing battle with the mayor of Chicago and his puppet government in Springfield. This includes many elected state officials. There are a number of bills running through our state houses that will make almost all gun owners criminals. If you think for a minute that ALL in law enforcement will stand with the citizens of any state you are wrong. There are police units in Chicago that enter homes and take the firearms of those with expired FOID cards. This can happen to you. You want to read just what is happening in this state, go to the State of Illinois web page and look up HB4258, 4259,4269,4349,796,4541,SB1919,HB4217,4357,4393,758,5228,5169,731 for a start. As lawlessness increases, people will cry out for the States to do something and the government will answer.

little by little they are restricting us. when was the last time you could leave a rifle in your pickup in plain view? and I dont mean worry from theft. when clinton signed a background check bill how many people became unable to buy a gun? forget the fact that they are not felons. the atf is authorized to give a relief yet are not funded todo so. confiscation will not come in a major sweep. little by little. please name any other groups that stop or slow down gun control bills.

Take a look at the history of firearms legistation in the uk , It is unbelieveable what the government has done in the name of public safety . As legal ownership is restricted more, so armed crime increases ! you will not believe the devious methods politicians use to ban firearms. once I owned rifles,pistols and shotguns now we can only own rifles (not self loading ) and shotguns no more than 3shot but I have never broke any law ,I do not get into fights or even mix with people of ill repute.

one of our biggest problems is our nra who only like formal target shooting and have repeatedly sold other disiplines down the river , beware a death of a thousand cuts !

finally, a big heart felt thank you to all the men and women, british and american in fact any nationality who are on active service worldwide , we ALL owe them an enormous debt of gratitude.

Fudamentals

All of you have valid concerns and different plans to deal with the potential event of confiscation of your weapons by an act of socialism. Just like the saying goes "guns don't kill people, people kill people", it is the same truism for "government doesn't confiscate guns, people confiscate guns". In other words it is the current culture, the current society, your next door neighbors that will take our guns away. It is not the attitude of a single politician but the ammunition in the form of votes by his constituents that will garnish our weapons. The war against extreme gun control is fought in our minds by reasoning, strategizing and execution of counter-measures. Lobbying is not enough. We have to win the hearts and minds of the anti-gunners, not all of them but enough to give us peace of mind. These people, believe it or not, are our fellow citizens, our fellow Americans. These are the very people you and I would protect with deadly force if necessary. So, how do we do at least get them to understand our side of the story? First we should not alienate them but invite them into our world of safe and responsible gun ownership. Listen to their concerns without getting defensive and then rebuttal in a friendly way and shake hands afterwards. They will see that we are good, hardworking law-abiding citizens with a logical reason to support the Second Amendment. Slowly over time we may win-over allies from the opposition. I believe it is a societal conflict that should be settled with friendship and wisdom not "civil war".

Yep, good idea. The media uses fear to convince the people that guns are bad. Big city mayors can't solve the crime problem so they attack the tools criminals use. Then the state government jumps on the bandwagon. When it's all said and done, you have more restrictions and outright bans. Illinois is a prime example. Chicago is a plague on this State. The Mayor has invited us to leave the State if we don't like it. Would be nice if everyone on this forum and others like it would join the Illinois State Rifle Association and help in the fight.

I just listened to a conservative christian radio station today that said and I quote that their trying to pass laws that will emply disciplinary action for language used on the internet . The kind of language in this thread would possibly qualify if "they" get there way . What a sad day in America that would be ! The liberals want to silence YOUR voice that in itself is just as bad as taking your guns away think about it . They want to inforce hate speach laws. I believe everyone has the right to voice their opinion with that being said the public school system can teach (force) our children about homosexuals but we dare not rise up and tell them what the bible says let alone have prayer in our schools and we wonder why our economy is going down hill . We have pushed God almighty OUT! If we would stand for whats right and have some morals once again then God will bless our country like he did while our four fathers were standing for what's right !!
