I caught the tail end of a radio news story today that a farmer or rancher I think has shot what some people are calling a "chupacabra". It is supposedly a fanged animal that looks like a winged rat. (No not a seagull). The man thought it was an Opossum but when he found a picture of an possum he realised he was wrong and the end of the report said that animal specialists were trying to figure it out.

I wonder if this is the same story. I dont see any wings though.

i saw a story on this-and they[the media ]were saying it was part coyote-part hyena-id like to send a little "lead love" at that thing just to get a better look-lol.the chupacabra is a mexican mythical creature-which translates to"goat sucker",i have friends who live on the texas- mexico border and people are always talking about the mythical goat sucker killing their goats and what not,from what i have seen its just coyotes and packs of wild dogs,which are very common in parts of texas -my-2-dave

This morning on the radio the local Maryland DNR rep reported it is suspected to be a red fox with mange.

I saw that video a few days back. I am pretty sure that is a hyena with the mange. People buy all sorts of exotic pets and then realize they can't keep/control the stupid things and turn them loose.
It sure moves and acts like a hynena to me....actually, I am a little disappointed in you Dave. I figured you would have killed that thing by now!

At first glance I initially thought my other-in-law on the way to the outhouse but after closer examination I though "snow gator".

BTW, contrary to what everyone thinks I don't kill everything... I generally leave the really ugly stuff for my friends to shoot.
