WARNING- SuperPerformance Powder

I purchased Super Performance powder last week and test loaded it in my 35 whelen. Took it up to 62 grs. with only 1900 fps. That is 1000 short of what it should be. This is not same SP powder they are using in factory loads.

i wasnt aware of hornady doing any factory loads for the 35 whelen...
if they are manufacturing them where can i find some?

The SPF powder that Hodgdon sells is ONE particular burn rate. Hornady uses/blends many different SPF powders for their factory loads that range from 223 Rem up to 375 H&H in Superformance. Definitely not one burn rate.

It works fine with published data, but it's more like h450/h4831 and it will not produce good velocity in a 35 whelen. rl15 or 4064 are the powders of choice there. My 35 whelen is eating 220 speers and rl15. I'm using superformance in my 25wssm and it'll do over 3300 fps with a 100grain at 1 moa. It's(SP) nearly 200 fps over the next powder I use.
