Using Kestrel Properly

I have a Kestrel 2500. I use Shooter as my ballistics app. When I got the Kestrel, I set my reference altitude and pressure as instructed. Upon further examination, I read that when changing elevations, you should reset your references for that specific spot. Seems like this could be a pain messing around with it in the field, and I am considering upgrading to something that uses density altitude so that it is more efficient.

The other option would be to use the station pressure.

Main question, do I need to be constantly changing my reference pressures and altitudes every time I change position????

Spot on, thanks. I will make the adjustments going forward. On a side note, it is going to be easier for me. Thanks again.
