Ultralight hunting rifle, help needed

Saw this today. Good price and good components for a lightweight rifle with a crazy good turnaround time. See package 3 and 4....very interesting....

Awesome info guys I appreciate it. I am pretty much set on 160 class bullets. I know a lot can Be done with 140s but nothing is ever a given. Just like a little more KE in my setup. This takes a lot of the light weight production rifles out. Most don't have enough horse power in their short action chamberings. Once you get out of the short action lots gain a pound instantly. 7RM and 280AI are great rounds foresure. I just think a short mag will get me better performance out of a 24in barrel. Again A deer or elk might never know the difference but I will. I want to be completely happy in my setup. Knowing I could have spent a couple hundred more for the performance I wanted. I'd never be satisfied. Half or more of my issue finding a rifle is me. I am picky and know what I want. Settling for less for me is very hard to do. Confidence in your equipment greatly enhances success. I want that comfort when I shoot. NULA is probably the way I should go. I will keep looking taking this great info and try and find me the perfect rifle for my budget. Again I appreciate all the info.

Had a late Christian spiritual mentor, leader of men and fantastic sportsman. His name was Danny Burton. He had a MGA ultralight with a 5-25 huskemah 300ultra that that would make you grin like possum when you picked it up and shot it. Shot the 210 bergers it was before the 215 came. In fact he killed an elk at 761 yard with Greg Crowe and when the elk flopped on first shot, all Greg could say was holy $#!×. Also his daughter carried it around colorado and was so jacked up thinking rifle would knock her teeth out she missed her bear on the first shot, then jacked another and dropped one of the oldest sows the biologist had ever seen.

Hey guys I am looking to add an ultralight pack rifle to my arsenal. I am wanting something under the 6lb mark. I am having a hard time finding much info on UL rifles. I am wanting something for say a 7-800yd elk rifle. I am thinking a 24in. barrel is the length I want. I am thinking a 7mm in SAUM or WSM. I was hoping to push a 162 eld-x in the 3,000fps range. I would like to keep it under 4k for a build if i could. Could go a little more if needed. Seems most UL packages out there are in standard calibers. I think I need a little more for the performance I want. A 280AI I think is going to be right there with a 7mmRM which is a little less than i want. NULA Melvin Forbes has some great rifles in my range. I havent called him yet to see foresure if he can build a short mag in his rifles. I am thinking the 160 class bullet range. Decent KE and still fairly flat at that speed. I think it will be a bit better than a 140 class in a 6.5. I am not looking for the 180-195 bullets. Wont get the performance in a short barrel and I have a 300WM that loves 212's at 2930fps. Looking for something light between my 6.5 creedmoor, 260AI and my 300WM. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Adam
