Looking at getting a new scope, and these seem to be in the running. My requirements
1. 30mm tube
2. At least 20 power
3. Under 30oz
4. $1500.00 is max on new glass, I have a hard time buying used scopes. Never leaves me with a good feeling.
The rifle is a 280 Ackley. I'm planning on using my Talley one piece rings. I will be shooting from 50-700 yards deer and elk hunting, with targets to a 1000. I will have a rangefinder and using Kenton BDC turrets.
Here's is my run down of the 2 scopes. Or my opinion.
Trijicon will have better glass? I believe
Vortex a better warranty,
Trijicon has more moa 100 minutes vs 75 Vortex.
Trijicon more zooming power
Vortex I can turn on and off power at any time.
Vortex will probably use newer technology.
Vortex has a busier reticle Christmas tree style.
Vortex is FFO and Trijicon is second plane.
Trijicon I like the Moa reticle better.
Kenton BDC turrets on either scope.
Trijicon is a 1" longer for mount scopes.
Vortex is much lighter.
With all this said I'm leaning towards Trijicon. But Vortex warranty is excellent and they make a great scope. I do have a Vortex Competition on my F Class 284 and Vortex viper 10x50 binoculars, but never looked into Trijicon Accupoint.
Any input would be helpful
