[QUOTE="Broz, post: 593307, member: 7503"] Broke the black cloud over us this am. Spotted one mousing in a wheat field on the way to the first stand. But the minute we stopped the truck he was in high gear and gone before we could set up for a shot. Coyotes that hang close to raods in T are well educated. :) Set up for the first stand and started with Lightning Jack at low volume. In about 4 or 5 minutes we had a yote skylined at 500 yards looking down toward the call. I switched to a yotr pup distress and he headed in a full run down toward us. He disappeared behind a hill between us and durring the next few minutes 3 more came over behind him. I called low swithing from the jack to yote pup and two showed up at about 75 yards. But there was sage brush and some trees blocking the shot. They winded us and disappeared. Next I set up abuot a 1/2 mile up in a new draw. Before we even turned on the call two showed up at about 700 yards and were crossing a hillside. I turned on LJ again and the cows down in the valley spooked and ran. The yotes seen the cows running and promptly headed out. Then on the way home we spotted another mousing in a field at aout 700 yards. All I had in the truck was the "pray and spray" Stagg AR so I lit him up and made him run. Was kinda fun watching him duck and dive as the 223's at about 1000 yards landed in his general area.:D At least we called some in. Tomorrow I will hit it again.
