Transitional/Progressive/Gain Twist Barrels aid in accuracy?

I think a 338 Lapua Improved case would be perfect for a 358.

+1 The Lapua brass is tough and high quality.

Another case with almost the same volume that is a little shorter and requires the Magnum bolt face
and will fit in almost any action is the 338 RUM (It is shorter than the 300 rum. It is also based on the 404 Jeffries.

and if you wanted to change the case taper and the shoulder angle, you could gain a little more case capacity.

If you are interested in a big bore 35 talk to Bruce Baer. He has a 35-408 that he has been working with CE bullets on for several years. Last time I saw him shoot it was at 1k. 14 MOA and sub 8" group for 10 shots.

He has dies, reamers, brass, actions and barrels. Plus he makes the stocks to fit the bigger actions.
