That's an Apple to Orange comparison. It wasn't just a thread seal issue. Its related solely to the properties of BH and the ignition system. :) You sound exactly like I did. "Pellets! BS!" Well if I were shooting a production rifle, I wouldn't be shooting pellets. This AIN'T no production rifle :D What owners (you and I) have to get through our heads is, this rifle is DESIGNED to shoot pellets and do it very well. What we think we can do with the rifle, has already been tried. Ken has shooters sending 10's of thousands of rounds yearly to find the perfect load. These rifles have set a box full of records and harvested tons of game at very long range. We are so used to "tinkering" with half ask production rifles, its hard to understand all this has already been completed for us. I'll admit, I was one of those people. In doing so, I created myself a problem which Ken resolved and I learned a valuable lesson. GET READY! You're about to receive a quality rifle. If you follow the recommendations, you're going to be a very happy shooter. Don't just put it in the safe after shooting it a dozen times. Get it on the range and shoot it, a lot. I've put over 300 rounds through mine and expect to have at least 500 through it by the season's start. Its a blast!!! Just an FYI......... I found that moving up to the larger 2" round patches for swabbing works much better than those supplied. Dampen the patches with Butch's Black Powder Bore Shine. Don't make them sop and wet, just DAMP. If you ever want to discuss shooting the UF rifle, PM me and I'll give you my phone number......... Man these things are fun! Been a long time since I've had this much FUN with a muzzleloader.
