Thoughts on rifle weight and hunting

No, that would be from climbing a mountain canyon and trying to get into a position to shoot an elk haha. Trust me, when I say a 16# rifle sits better than an 8# rifle, it's a world of difference in a hunting scenario.

I have 2 identical Sako A7's. First one permanently loaned to a friend. It shot the below group with 54.7gr H4350 and 130 TTSX .150" off the lands. Was second load work outing. Loaded him up 50 rds. And called it a day. That went so well I bought one for my 11y old son. It did not duplicate that performance with the same load. No surprise there but just in case will try a couple more depths and weights. Will bump up the load as Hogdon has a book max over Barnes' 54.7. As not to hijack the thread. This rifle weighs about 9lbs with scope and sling. I find this weight very comfortable🙂
