Deer population up, number of hunters down

It’s deer hunting season in Massachusetts -- and there are plenty of pickings. Mass Wildlife estimates the deer population is above 95,000 -- about where it’s been the past couple of years.

With the increase in the Deer population (is it everywhere?) this could lead to more issues as in Lyme CT and Lyme Disease? I remember back in the 70's they closed deer hunting in the Great Swamp in Northern NJ, and in one reserve in Massachusetts which ended up having to hire professions hunters to cull the diseased and poor health of the population.

If we don't recruit we're dead. Lots of kids today would rather go for VR. Instant success. Little patience. Getting them doing it for real is a challenge.
