The other dial is the original that comes with the scope that allows you to get the scope sighted in. You can use the scope with the cds dial or get the rifle sighted in and not use the dial and use the scope as a regular one. But if you prefer to get a dial that matches your ammo for your rifle they can be made at leupold for around $60.00. Hope that helps.
