This is my latest wildcat, the 6.5 SS (Sherman Shortmag). This is a TRUE short action mag that will cycle through a std. mag box with the VLD bullets seated out. It will reach 3100' with the 160 Matrix. Parent case is 7 SAUM or 300 SAUM with Norma brass. (shortened, taper removed, shoulder sharpened, and .320" neck)

Rifle specs:
Trued 700 SA
26" 8 twist Benchmark 5R #5
Manners MCS T3
Sightron SIII 6-24 Talley 20 moa mts.DSCF0562.jpg

Just picked up my .25-06 Ackley Improved 40* from the gunsmith this morning, and went to the range to fire-form some brass.

This is my fun rig. I enjoy shooting this gun more than most for some reason.

1942 Mosin Nagant
Custom stock
original barrel cut 26"
SWFA 12x SS
Burris Signature ring w/ 20 MOA inserts

First target is Load working with 2 different bullets.
Second is the final load
Steel is 750 yards 12"x12"

Load is
Lapua Brass
174 grn SMK .311
42.5 grns Varget
Velocity is 2400

I'm working on a load with more velocity and trying to find another accuracy node, but this node shoots pretty well

When you say feed threw standard mag box is that 308 sized mag? If those would feed threw a 308 aics mag I don't think I can talk myself out of one. That's about perfect in every way. Is the brass tough to make or do you buy it? Nice rifle, sorry if I'm derailing slightly it's just the first I've seen of the 6.5 Sherman. I was debating a 6.5 wsm but this baby takes the cake.

This thread needed a little other flavor

Here is my Steyr ProHunter 7mm mag bedded in a SSG04 stock with trigger work to 2lbs, Titanium muzzle break and topped with a Trijicon 5-20.

**** crappy cell phone pic. Will get better pics soon.
