I am shopping for a scope for my new Varmint rifle(ground hog's). 500-600 yards will be my longest shots. My budget is $500-$1,000. My number 1 priority is tracking. Number 2 priority would be clarity. Light gathering is not a real issue. I have been looking at the 16X IOR, and the 6.5X20 Zeiss conquest. I am looking for suggestions. Who makes the best scope for tracking?? In my price range?? Tom.

If its to be use for nothing but ground hogs I'd go with the IOR. There doesn't seem much need for a variable power scope for ground hogs.

Both will track great. I haven't heard of a tracking problem in any of the name brand scopes of late.
