Bought this old gem last summer and only fired it once (iron sights only).
24" barrel, internal magazine round counter and the lever still has some case coloring.
I will include old 2.5-8 scope and extra set of rings.
$600 shipped to FFL in lower 48

No sir, I checked but I think it's a EG Model if I'm not mistaken
Looks aftermarket drilled tapped not factory done
1953 manufacture if I'm correct. I looked up the serial number last summer when I purchased it

Yes it is an EG model. The D&T is not factory as when they started, they offset the lettering. The pad is very unfortunate in terms of value. If it has an excellent bore (scoped) and no major cracks behind tang, it's a reasonable price for a shooter. With the the 24" bbl, a 130 TSX and 4198 a 300 can nudge 3000 fps which will kill anything in the lower 48 out to 300 yards.

No cracks... see pics

Well sort of. Get a good modern pad and it will be a lot nicer to shoot than my steel buttplate 99R. To put a modern scope they needed to be D&T. Good shooter. A 100% correct one will bring $800 or more AND that scope is a bit of a cult item especially if it is the 3x3 crosshair model. $75-100 if it's clean and bright.

Mine has a modern recoil pad plus can add a scope of your choice.
Win win 😊

Were it not drilled you would have to find a Stith Mount $2-300 and a Lyman Alaskan 2.5X $3-400. (used to be mine)

Very neat gun! My first rifle was a 1941 model 99 in 300 savage with a 2.5x Lyman Alaskan on a Redfield mount. I still have it :) Shoots consistent 1.25 MOA with 165s. Even with the mods that's a fair price, and would be a great using gun!
