Cleaning out Safe. Up for sale is (1) Remington 700 Mountain Rifle in 257 Roberts. Bore is excellent, very few very minor scratches see pictures, Picture show them well but to look at the gun they are hardly noticeable. I believe this gun was made in 1991 and has been in safe for a long time. Only shot a couple of times. No Box

I'm a sucker for good looking mountain rifles. Is this built on a long action or a short action? I don't know what Remington used on these.

I'm pretty sure Rem built the 257R in short action on Mtn Rifle and in long action in the 700 Classic series.

I have a 700 CDL Anniversery in SS and its on a short action. 257 Roberts is an underrated round...if someone rebarreled a 700 with a 1-8 or 9 twist it be pretty much a perfect truck gun rifle in my mind with pretty much anything you'd run into!

Beautiful 700 Mountain. We had a matching pair with Drop Mags in 7mm08 and 243. Sold the 08 and then put a Bell Carolson on the 243,
This rifle here is a BEAUTY!!!! AND can't beat the 257 Roberts for a deer/antelope. I sure would love to have it.
