Hey guys, was resizing some new Nosler 300 WSM brass today w a brand new Redding FL resizing die. I noticed that afterwards there is a very small amount of brass built up at the base of the neck, leaving a faint ring. Looks to me like some of the brass is being shaved off the neck and left as this ring? I've never seen this before, any thoughts?

Thanks, I cleaned it after and tried another few pieces of brass...same thing. Brass is chamfered/deburred.

There may be stubborn polishing/honing residue that is hard to remove.
I find using some metal polish on a cotton mop spun in a battery drill often gets the entire die clean, simply wash the die out after with very hot water, dry and apply a light coat of your preferred gun oil while still hot.
The neck is often the hardest part to clean, not only for us, but for the manufacturer.

Cheers.
