Practice Gun

My 6-47L and my 300 WBY drops are IDENTICAL at 1000 yards. A 10 mph crosswind wind yealds 1.1 MOA more wind drift with the 6mm at 1K. Very, very close!!

They also wear the same trigger asy, and untill last year, the IDENTICAL stock. My 300WBY/338 EDGE now wears an A5 stock.

Heavy Savage .22 target rifle with 10x40 scope. Shooting subsonic .22 LR out to 200 yds has similar bullet drop and wind deflection (inches) as 7 RM out to 600 yds. Same great taste, less filling.

284 Win straight. 24" barrel on a Remmy LA.
Kinda fun to bang away at 200 yds. with 150 and 160s.
Leupold 3x9 target scope.

Also shoot an AR15 in across the course for fun.

When can't get to the long ranges.. lots of .22 (CZ 452), .223 (ARs and Tikka CTR) and .243 (Savage build). But I grab the .300WM and run a few down her just to work on driving the rifle under heavy recoil.

I know 500 isn't long by the standards here, but long enough for me....

10/22 w/ 25 MOA rail SWFA 10x MD to 200 = 43" drop, 21" drift (50yd zero)

223 w/ 75 Amax at 500 = 50" drop, 21" drift (100yd zero)

260w/ 120 TTSX at 500 = 51" drop, 21" drift (100 yd zero)

270 WSM w/ 160 NPT at = 51" drop, 21" drift (100 yd zero)

Jury is out on the NPT at the moment.
