I see the F-class shooters use either H4831 or H4350 depending on bullet weight.
I want to try from 150 grain bullets to 168's to see what will shoot best. This load
is for whitetails up close to 400 yrds. I have seen some using Reloder 17. Has anyone tried
Reloder 26? It is a long action so not limited on case capacity like short action.

Back in 1963 when it was first offered the pet load with a 140 gr nosler partition used 57 or 58 gr of IMR 4350. I used that exact load for several years then discovered H4350. It is finer grained so it fits better and it is an extreme powder.

When RL-17 showed I switched to it with bullets from 120 to 168. Current load 24" barrel: 168 Berger VLD with 51 grains of RL-17 using neck turned Win brass .002" tension, Fed 210, bullet .010" into lands. OAL 3.050" vel 2836

A friend made a LA with a custom reamer for 180 Bergers:

28" lilja 1 in 7 twist 3 groove 284 win 51 gr of RL-17, fed 210 match, 284 win winchester brass neck turned enough to skim 80% of neck, 180 Berger VLD .030" into the lands, .002 neck tension, velocity 2875
