[QUOTE="flashhole, post: 970313, member: 21375"] My Ruger #1V 25-06 has a 24" barrel 1:10 twist. I shoot the 115 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets with great success. My favorite powder for that bullet is Retumbo. I use a 4.3cc Lee Dipper Cup (the largest cup in the set) when I charge the case. The load is about 1 grain under max and provides excellent case fill. I tweaked the seating depth to my guns liking. I've recommended Retumbo to several people who shoot the 25-06 and they have all had good success with it. I like it a lot better than H-1000. For a lighter load you might try a Sierra 87 grain bullet with 4.3cc of H-4831SC. Same good results. This was at 150 yards shooting off the hood of my pickup truck.
