I hope you get whatever the current seller's market will bear. Because that will be the very fairest selling price at this time, under the current circumstances. Which is a buyers market described as "you snooze - you lose". I must be unpatriotic also...
Not sure why some are expecting you to donate your good fortune to their charitable cause (their own financial self-interests). Clearly they are expressing a self-serving hope dashed by the current reality of supply and demand, perhaps even a delusional thought that they are due a special favor by virtue of U.S. citizenship, and therefore you should sell these to them for $100's of dollars less than what many others would be very happy to pay - and with a big smile on their faces at that.

Actually, yes, AR's CAN be caliber specific, if so stamped. Most are stamped 223/5.56 - so, legally, have to build that caliber.
Some lowers are marked rifle or pistol.
Some lowers are marked "Multi Cal" - can build what you want.
Also, depends on how the lowers are entered into the FFL's book - depends on what you can build.
