Thinking of picking up a Evolution Gun Works Picatinny rail system to use on my Savage build. Are these any good for the price, or should i go with something else. Rifle is a savage round top long action with a 26" match grade barrel a
Fred Choate tactical stock and a 6x25x56 long range target scope mounted on Knights Armament scope rings and a Atlas Bipod. Caliber is .284 Win. Gun will be used for target shooting mostly due to it's 14 1/2 pound weight. any help would be appreciated. Thanks for all the good info you guys give out. gun)

The Weaver Tactical is cheaper and a little lower.

EGW is good for the money, but the screws can suck.

Thanks for the info. I am going to be putting on a Karsten cheek rest so if the base is a little higher it won't matter.

What's up with the screws? I'm buying an EGW mount as soon as they come in next week.

Mounts are no place to cheap out on a long range rig. This is a place where the term "you get what you pay for" could not be more true. I will not even mount a scope in the low end mounts anymore. I guess I have just learned that lesson too many times.

I prefer Near Mfg. or Nightforce depending on the app. But I have found Seekins, and Ferrel (sp?) to be good product as well.
