I am out of Norma 217, does anyone have some they want to sell? It is the most accurate powder I have found for my magnums.

I wish I could find some more too. Down to 4 pounds and it is the most accurate powder in my 6.5 prc with the 156 berger
I'm pulling bullets from Norma factory ammo, but don't know what powder was used? It might be 204? Info obtained using QL to determine the possibility? 840 rounds @ 53.2 (average grains) = 6# 6oz (close to). 6.5prc 143gr golden target. 53.5gr of 204 closely matches their advertised velocity.
Could it possibly be mrp ? Nosler lists that powder in volume #9
I was using ql to figure it out, but still not sure? With charge weight it was the closest match. Still not 100% when it comes to ql though.
Using ql and inputting it as mrp is a possibility, but 100fps slower than advertised on the box. With a 26" barrel it's about 50 fps less. Per Norma's website stating 660mm barrel (25.98") could put it in the mrp realm?
It could be a powder that isn't available to the public? If you reuse it you will probably find the best load ever and not be able to duplicate it, ha ha

I know what you mean, I use in both of my 6.5-300 Weatherbys and accuracy is fantastic. I can get 100'/s more velocity out of US869 but the groups are .8 inches and they are .3 with the Norma 217. I have some Winchester 780 Supreme that I want to check out as well. It is great in my 7mm and 300 Weatherbys. They look the same under a microscope, makes you wonder.
I bought a 7mm Weatherby in the early 70s. Only powder that I could find that worked well was Norma 205, I believe was later renamed as mrp. Wish I hadn't sold the 7

I hear ya. I shoot Winchester 780 Supreme in mine and it loves it. It also does very well on IMR 7228SSC.
