NM 16B/22 elk draw success!

Well I pleasantly learned I drew the first season rifle elk tag for this unit. This was not my first choice but none the less I drew a tag! So now the planning begins. Anybody care to share some info with me of where to start? I do have horses.

It is all wilderness area so the horse will really help. It is thick as crap in there so we hunted the open meadows last year. Got a nice 6x5. If you are hunting in the woods, like I said it is thick with trees, so get up high and try to glass or set up to hunt when they come out into the meadows. We hunted near snow lake.

Yeah...I will post them when I get home. It wasn't me doing the hunting though. I was along as one of the pack mules after my buddy's wife shot the bull elk.
