I recently picked up my 28 Nosler from the Gunsmith. I had him do the metal work and I bedded the stock.

Winchester 70 action from a 300 RUM.
Benchmark 27" #6 Bull sporter barrel - fluted with a 1 in 8 twist.
Four port brake
Winchester Magnum/Express stock
Pillar and action bedded by me - free floated/bedded barrel channel.
Standard old style trigger with lighter spring and stoned by me - breaks at 2.5lbs.
Farrell G-Force 20MOA steel rail
Warne rings
Bushnell 6500 2.5x16 scope
Scope and rings are for load development I'll change out to some thing else later.
2nd stock bedded for gun is an ultralight McMillan in a M40 style.
Weight is 8lbs4oz in the McMillan and 9lbs6oz in the wood stock without rings and scope.
The chamber is throated to max out mag length of 3.610". I can run the 195 Bergers up to 3.605.

After a short break in and initial sight in I started load work with 175ABLRs and 195 Bergers. The ABLRs were started at .050" off the lands at 3.490 and the Bergers .005" off the lands at 3.605". I used RL33 to start. I had no data for the 195 Bergers so I did a single round pressure work up to establish a baseline to start from. Initial work shows some promise.

I am building a 28 nosler and I am interested in your findings. There isn't much, if any load data out for these right now. Is RL-33 temperature sensitive or is it like the extreme powders like retumbo or H1000? Any updates on your load developments? Have you played with seating depth on the bergers?

2nd tlme out with the 28Nosler. Validated the 175 ABLR load it shoots groups but ES and Sds are higher than I'd like. The 195 Berger grouped well with several charges. Max in my gun 87gr and that's tough on brass. I blew a primer at 87.5 grains of RL33. Next time out I'll play with OAL on the Bergers.
