A queston for Mr. See and any others that may have an opinion:
Can the Muscle Brake be contoured down to match an Accumark 0.705 barrel diameter(.338 caliber)?
If not, is anyone able to recommend an effective brake which can be so contoured, provided of course, this is even feasible in the first place?
Thanks for any info.

The muscle brakes can not be contoured down in diameter that far. The thing with baffled brakes is the ports are a certain height and we can never cut the brake down to a dimension smaller than the port height, (or you will end up with 3 little pcs.)

On a 338 dia bullet we need clearance of .358" for bullet travel thru the brake. On the minimum we need .075" of material on the top and bottom strap of the brake to hold the thing together. On a brake of .705" that means the side ports height would need to be no more than .550" some of that will be radiused due to the end mills dia. with a .358" hole thru a .550" high baffle that doesn't leave alot of surface area on the baffles. Thus this is why the brakes are made in a range of sizes and then the shank is tapered to match the barrel dia.

The best I could recomenmd would be a .765" CSR 3 port brake, You could turn it down to it's designed dia. of .750" and have just a very gradual taper up the brakes shank.

My question - why doesn't the muzzle brake wreck accuracy ? It would seem tobe the absolute opposite for anything to improve accuracy. It must be just a fluke that works , and nobody knows why? lightbulb
