Don't know about laundry bags but they should work well. I have half dozen or so quarter bags that are close to that size that I have used for years and they are just right for a whole elk quarter especially if going up onto a horse. I don't use them when backpacking as they are too big and heavy. I use a king size pillow case that fits inside the pack and bone the meat out entirely when backpacking.
