Magnum primer question

I am down to a couple 100 Federal 215M primers so am looking at substituting either Winchester magnum primers or CCI magnum primers, which would you suggest for a 300RUM?

At this point in time I use whatever I have on hand. I have extensive experience with cci and they always go bang.

I run 215s as well and my range buddy uses CCIs and has good luck. I'm sure there would be a little difference but probably not much. Don't have 300rum but use in 7RM, 300WM, and 338LM.

If I had the choice, I would always go Winchester, they are considerably hotter than both Federal and CCI.
I would give almost anything to replenish my standard Winchester primers, I think I have less than 25 left…

I got a fancy charter down in the keys. Caught Like 25 of these puppies on that trip.

I'd go with the Winchesters. In my 6.5 CM, Federal and Winchester produced similar velocities while CCI lost about 30 fps. Upped my charge weight to get back into the node. The CCI primers just fall apart when I deprime. Maybe a bad batch, but they always go bang and my ES/SD is still good.

As long as you are not hunting or shooting in sub-zero conditions, I would try some normal large rifle primers. I exclusively use WLR primers in all my cartridges from 30-06 to 7mm RUM with no issues.

I'm glad that I bought a bunch for my 460 S&W. If/when I run out of Fed. 215's……I may rob some of my 460 stash!

Of course, at my consumption rate…….that may be a while! memtb

In order of precedence, my primer preference is CCI250, F215M, WLRM, and R9 1/2M. However, I have had luck with 9 1/2M with my .300 WSM, .257 WBY, and .338 Thor, lately.
