I have a wild hair to build a light weight rig chambered in 338 Federal.

I would love a Sako L579 action, scarce to say the least. Like a fool, I sold my last one a few years ago. Some day I will learn to stop selling rifles, always comes back to haunt me.

I have been looking for a donor rifle for awhile, Kimber, Sako, or similar action?

Who else is building a light weight action along these lines.

What are your thoughts.

Randy

On the even spendier side the barret fieldcraft and nula actions are scaled down.

We're living in an age where it's either 700 footprint or nothing, or bulkier yet savage.

My thoughts are eventually the pendulum swings back at some point some companies going to release a nice svelte little action to fill the hole left by the fieldcraft.

Fierce has a sako cloned action I do believe…not sure if the tikka prefits will work with them but it's worth a call to find out. For lightweight 700 defiance Anti is hard to beat without going titanium. Wish I had started with it instead of my tikka action but I still like it.
