Here's my setup. win M70 stainless short action 24" stainless pac-nor ultralight contour barrel all metal teflon coated bell and carlson stock talley lightweight rings extra low Leupold VX3 3.5-10x40mm factory trigger set at 2.5#, amazingly crisp (got lucky). rifle, rings, scope weighs in right at 7.5 lbs. I could drop another few ounces if I upgraded to a premium stock, but i like how it handles as is. I too am primarily an elk hunter so I chambered in 338-300wsm. She shoots like a dream... although it takes some practice to handle the recoil. The thin tube forces me to download almost 10% below max to get accuracy, but I can hold 1/2 to 3/4 moa further than the bullet will maintain 1800 fps which is ~750 yards depending on elevation. I've got accurate loads with both the 225 Accubond and the 210 TTSX, but my favorite is the 210 TTSX @ 2850 fps. This little setup has hammered lots of elk including a nice 6x6 @ 630 yds. Don't have one of those fancy pics, but here's one from one of my hunts.
