So like the title says guys let's see photos of those lightweight beauties! Specs and targets are a plus! Lookin at buildin a lightweight rig and want to get some ideas. Plus who doesn't love good old gun porn?

Here is my one. It is a Rem Model 7 7 SAUM.
I fluted the factory barrel, fluted the bolt and replaced the firing pin with a lightweight version. The biggest weight saving was making a carbon fibre stock. The stock weighs just over a pound.
The scope is a Bushnell 6500 2.5-16 x 42 in lightweight Talley rings. The scope is a bit heavy, but the magnification range is great.

The bare rifle weighs 5lb 4oz with the rings an scope it weighs 6lb 10oz.

It shoots 140 accubonds into less than an inch a t 100 yds and 162 a-max into 1.25 -1.5 inch at 100 yds.
The only animal shot so far is a red hind at 450 yds with the 162 a-max.

Im drooling already my friend. That's a wicked little rig you have there. Im already getting ideas. Did you make the stock or have one made? IF you bought it somewhere where might that be? Lets keep the pics coming guys!

This is a light weight heavy weight.Larger bore as I am primary elk hunter.Defiance Rebel,Lonewolf Summit kevlar glass, ABS wrap. 7-2 oz bare picture is in white, has alum. bolt knob. This rifle is proven, son took speed goat at 850. I have shot some nice groups w/ rifle. I have hammered some bulls with it and more to come. 338 Norma

Here's my setup.

win M70 stainless short action
24" stainless pac-nor ultralight contour barrel
all metal teflon coated
bell and carlson stock
talley lightweight rings extra low
Leupold VX3 3.5-10x40mm
factory trigger set at 2.5#, amazingly crisp (got lucky).

rifle, rings, scope weighs in right at 7.5 lbs. I could drop another few ounces if I upgraded to a premium stock, but i like how it handles as is. I too am primarily an elk hunter so I chambered in 338-300wsm. She shoots like a dream... although it takes some practice to handle the recoil. The thin tube forces me to download almost 10% below max to get accuracy, but I can hold 1/2 to 3/4 moa further than the bullet will maintain 1800 fps which is ~750 yards depending on elevation. I've got accurate loads with both the 225 Accubond and the 210 TTSX, but my favorite is the 210 TTSX @ 2850 fps. This little setup has hammered lots of elk including a nice 6x6 @ 630 yds.

Don't have one of those fancy pics, but here's one from one of my hunts.

looking closer at the pic I uploaded, it must have been from the first year I hunted with it and had leupold dual dovetail bases/rings ... upgraded them at some point to with the talley lightweight once piece.

Don't have a pic of the rifle only, so this will have to do.
Stiller Predator action, Satern 4 taper barrel, Manners carbon fiber stock, Jewell trigger, NF 2.5-10x32 scope in Talley mounts. Weight 8.25 lb.
Marmot taken at 592 yards.
