Leica Vector 1500 daes

I have my eye on a used unit but want to know if since Leica Vector is no more can the company Vector still service and repair these units?

Did any new rangefinders come out at SHOT that are as reliable but maybe lighter?

All the Vector rangefinders are now handled by Vectronix, the 1500 can be serviced if need be.

The company was spun off to a French group.
