Really nice .257 Weatherby Mark V Ultra Lightweight with 4.5-14x44 Zeiss Conquest glass and about 200 rounds of factory Weatherby ammo package. Gun shoots extremely well. Used on one hunt years ago, been sitting in the safe since. Time to go.
The Mark V Ultra Lightweight gives you everything a custom-built lightweight does at half the price. It tips the scales at just 6 3/4 pounds, making it the ideal choice for packing into mountainous terrain or for all-day hunts. Based on the Mark V action, it features a chrome moly receiver, with weight-trimming alloy follower and floor plate. Deepened and widened flutes on the bolt reduce weight, along with a skeletonized bolt handle and bolt sleeve. Weight-reducing flutes are also employed on the 410 Series stainless steel 26" special contour barrel (.583 muzzle diameter), which features an accuracy-enhancing recessed field crown. Rounding out the Ultra Lightweight is a specially-designed, hand-laminated, raised comb, Monte Carlo composite stock (a combination of Aramid, graphite unidirectional fibers and fiberglass), precisely-inletted to accept a molded-in, CNC-machined aluminum bedding plate that stiffens the receiver area of the rifle when the barreled action is secured to the block. A Pachmayr® Decelerator® recoil pad dissipates recoil. Flat shooting. Hard hitting. Ultra lightweight.
