Laser engraving on synthetic stock question

My Mother passed away during this year elk season and I was considering buying my dad a new Bell and Carlson medalist stock for his gun and have it laser engraved with moms name, life span dates for a Christmas present. Has anyone had any laser engraving added to a synthetic stock and did it hold up ok? This was our first time to not go elk in 35 years so I thought it would be a positive way for my Dad to remember Mom every elk season from here out.

I have not seen it on a composite stock, I have seen it on a Laminate before.

Just an Idea, steal the bottom metal off the gun and have the floor plate engraved. That way if he ever sells the gun he can switch the bottom metal and put it on the new gun.

Just a thought.
