I think there are a couple of things to think about. WSM is going to put a hurt on people. If you look around, you'll see many light weight rifles on the market because the folks don't care for the recoil (especially light weight rifles).
I have a savage in 300 wsm that I use a stiff load (hand load), have an aftermarket trigger and a good scope. It still has the factory stock. It will shoot 1.25 inches most of the time and it is not fun. If I go to the aftermarket stock, I think it would be a 1 inch gun.

My point is, go with the tikka. Like savage, it will probably work and the tikka is light weight.

Regardless, you might not like the recoil in the end.

It is more fun to shoot the 280 I have in the same savage configuration, it has the accu-trigger and doesn't need much, except the aftermarket stock.
