Several weeks ago I was down at Eddybo's workin (read that as watchin him work) on a gun. He was wailing away with a RCBS inertia bullet puller ( read as "green hammer") on some type of primer punch apparatus. Anyway what he was doing isn't that important. I commented on how much I dreaded having to use that green hammer. He laughed and said it gave him fits as well and there was only one good use for the thing (primer punch thingy). Fast forward two weeks later. I'm at the range talking shop with one of the other shooters. I had the hammer with me to pull some bullets and commented on how much I sucked at using the hammer. I'd give myself carpal tunnel wearing it out in the front yard on the cement walkway. I'd make so much noise I hated doing it after dark for fear of disturbing the rest of the community. He laughed and said his worked fine. Just as I figured. the "nut behind the bolt" finds something else that he can't operate correctly. Then he added that he used it in a slightly unconventional way. He hit it with a real hammer. Real hammer in the left hand and the green hammer in the right. Hit them together and presto. 6-10 licks at most. Tried it today. So easy. Ask eddybo.
