Inconsistant Load Development

I just went back out the the range to try my new chrono using the same loads i recently shot a little better than .75" with. 72.5 to 73 of IMR 4831 in 7 mm stw with 140 tsx. Except this time i could only manage 1.25". I went to cleaning and man after about 20 patches of sweets finally no blue. What is the best way to remove copper on the Barnes bullets and do you guys think that was probably my problem? Prior to sweets i had been using butches bore shine. I even tried to 4 rounds of a duplicated load i used to shoot .25 to .5" and still 1.25"..

I use Wipe-Out and the accelerator to clean my guns with now. I've found that I can spray it in the bore leave it for however long I want to and it comes clean with one patch. Great stuff. As far as the TSX bullets go, I believe that the bore needs to be clean before shooting them to minimize copper fouling. If I make sure my barrel is clean before I shoot them I don't get as much fouling from them as I would if the barrel wasn't clean.

Barnes bullets are notorious for fouling,but I use them in a lot
of my rifles anyway.

Barnes has thier on solvent that works well but there are lots
of good copper solvents that will work.

Normally I clean after 3 to 5 rounds when using the barnes bullets
or molly cote them if i plan on shooting a lot.

I never use them to break in a new barrel because of fowling.

The triple shock appear not to fowl as bad as the x bullet and
the XLC's when you can get them work well.

1 example of this problem = I bough a 416 rem mag years ago
and hornady and barnes were the only bullets available at that
time. wanting to use spitzers I bough the barnes.

After loading 10 different loads I was off to the range.

Started shooting and could not find an accurate load (around
1 MOA) so after 50 rds I gave up .The fun had gone out of it.

When I got home it was time to start cleaning the beast, well
4 hours later I was still removing copper.

This was a factory barrel so I contribute some fowling to this
but never again will I shoot that much with out cleaning.

Under hunting conditions this should not be a problem, so if
your rifle likes them use them but clean often.
