I put together a Antelope rifle specifically for that.
Caliber 6.5 Grendel
24 inch barrel, I recessed the crown more than normal, mounted the barrel on a DPMS heavy wall upper, Geisely trigger, looking at Nosler 120 grain Ballistic tips for longer shots, I cant seem to find a good powder that lets me load the Barnes TTSX 120's I use in my 6.5x55. I have used Hornandy Amax, but the performance on deer I have shot at 300 yards was disappointing, almost never and exit hole
I mounted a Burris Eliminator 3 aswell.

any suggestions on a good bullet?
I hunt Wyoming and average shot it 300- 600 yards on the plateau

Stick with the 120 ballistic tip, or 123 Amax, You might not have got a exit on deer with the amax but remember these things are a light smaller. But the 120 ballistic tips have a proven track record on deer. I'm thinking of using my grendel this fall as well

Hornady just came out with a 123 grain SST. Essentially its the 123 grain AMAX with an interlock ring and maybe a different lead alloy. 6.5 grendel.com has some good info. Also some of the best powders are 2520, CFE223, and 8208xbr for the 120 grain projectiles.
