This is my first post here and I just wanted to say hi from Canada. As you can see by my name that I'm a fan of the 8x57 Mauser,it's a great cartridge with lots of history.
I have a K98 in 8x57 and one in 7.62x51, I handload for both to get the most accuracy and velocity potential.

A friend's dad that used to hunt elk with us a loooong time ago had that exact gun and he killed a lot of deer and elk with it. But then he had a habit of sneaking up on them until he could just about stick it in their ear before he pulled the trigger.
