Hello, I am a new user of Butch's Bore Shine (which I like a lot) but it leaves a very strong odor. I've even noticed it weeks after the rifle has been in the case.

I have a hunt coming up in a few days and if I can smell the rifle, so can the game. Do any of you have suggestions to eliminate or reduce the strong odor left from the solvent prior to a hunt?

Thank you for your suggestions.

David

You might run some alcohol thru it and then a light oil patch and let the gun air outside the gun case for a few days.

Deer/elk (supposedly) have a better sense of smell than a bloodhound. So the Butcher's is probably the least of your worries. You, your boots, etc. are just as bad.

Ya gotta stay down wind. But usually, at looong distance it's not an issue.
