How about this group for working up a load?

The wind finally laid down to 10 mph and under today and I was able to send a few round down range. I loaded up 3 barrel fowling loads of 53 gr Retumbo, 180 gr Bergers, and my new CCI br primers for my custom 7mm SAUM. I only shot two rounds at the target because my chrono wasn't reading due to the low sun. Considering the load was one grain below book minimum (for the 175 smk) and these were the first two rounds after a very extensive barrel cleaning, what do you think?

Oh, did I mention I was shooting at 300 yds?

I'm thinking my rifle likes the 180 gr Bergers a little more than the 168's. Once again, thanks Jim See for building me an awesome rifle.

As soon as I the weather, and my chrono, cooperate I'll finish my load development and let everyone see.

How far are you seating the 180's and have you played around with the seating depths much yet???

Shoot 3, 5 shot groups then you will know. Promising so far.

The tendency to shoot is looking good.

3 shots would have told a more complete story.

3-3 shot groups over time would tell a more complete story.
