hornady 6.5 eldm 147 gr

The attached thread by Cody Adams is by far the best info on the 147 ELDM for hunting.
I will add that several of the "Long Range" big name rifle builders that run Hornady use the 147 ELDM over the 143 ELDX for hunting purposes. With that said I am reloading all of my once shot factory 143 ELDX ammo with 147 ELDM bullets. I will note that I have ZERO on game results to date.

Shot a whitetail with one @ 465yds. 2950MV. It performed well. roughly 80 grains retained weight. Nice mushroom.

I run this bullet from a 6.5 SAUM at 3050 fps. Bullet has performed very well on Oklahoma whitetails from 500 yards and in. Furthest shot I have had so far.
All deer shot were DRT.

Last years mulie @ 811yds- 147 out of a 6.5 prc, flawless performance. That's the only one with 6.5 but countless elk and deer with 7mm & 30 cal. Eldm is the only bullet I hunt with
