Help finding a barrel

While they are a good option if you get one free, or really cheap, factory barrels are not made of the highest quality materials and are not up to the same quality control standards as a high-grade aftermarket barrel. Also, even if you use the original factory lug, it will not always be properly headspaced for your action...Which can create problems. Therefore, even with factory barrels, it is still strongly recommended to have it professionally installed by a competent gunsmith. That being the case, you would be much better off starting with a brand new higher quality aftermarket blank.

A take off barrel is a Pig In A Poke. Why was the barrel removed from the original action? Did it shoot accurate before removed. The cost of installation, head spacing would probably be the same or more than for a new barrel. Aligning the writing of a barrel on a different action is not an easy job. Good Luck
