Welcome from North Carolina. Keep in mind any hot rod 7MM will be hard on a barrel. If I was to use it for target shooting also, then I would go with the standard ole 7.

Welcome to the forum! The 7mm is a great caliber. Next you'll want to trade off horsepower with barrel live for what you want to do.

I heard a lot of good thing on the 7mm RM, Saum as well as the 7mm Sherman Max. Im thinking the max isnt the way to go just to gain a 100 FPS over the Saum or RM... I could be wrong here... Scott I would be very interested in reaching out to Jon Beanland. Thank you
