Gasoline shortage in South East GA

I remember in 1971 there was a Hudson Gas station that was self-serve. Gas was 21.9 cents a gallon, and you put dollar bills into the machine. No station attendant. Cost $3 to fill my Chevy Vega. Of course, that was when I cleared $92 every two weeks as a rookie cop in New Orleans.
 
The Good Days. That was when gas was $0.17 a gallon. 1970-71.
