For our law enforcement friends

...it needs to be said...

?????
It needs to be said but just don't say it here right?
So where is it OK to voice an opinion that might be considered "political" - what "political" means (since it seems that that excuse is used any time somebody wants to shut down someone else's comments).

This is exactly why the Police are being neutered along with any other person that supports our Nation's founding principles. Allowing ourselves to be censored so that we don't offend somebody is just pure crap. This is exactly the technique used to make LEOs villains. They can't say that the suspect had a long history of criminal activity, or that the suspect was assaulting the officers, or that he pointed a deadly weapon at them, that's offensive language. If you shut them up then they can't defend themselves.

The test of the Right to Free Speech is whether you have the right to verbally offend somebody with your opinion. If it is OK to censor somebody's opinion then you don't have Free Speech. And without Free Speech we have no other way to defend ourselves than to resort to violence.

Pump the brakes there pal.
How long as any political post lasted on this site? I myself would love to discuss current affairs with like minded people. I just doubt we will get the opportunity on this forum. I sure as heck am not the one censoring anyone. Feel free to get the thread deleted.

I believe all milo was trying to do or say was keep this thread about what it was in the original post appreciation and respect for law enforcement I am sure there are many of us that feel the same as you about the state of our nation thats just not what the orignal post was about good day sir

It all started a very very long time ago . It just got a lot of fuel put on it here the last few years . The men and women in blue is what keeps us safe when things get out of hand . Thanks to all of them and to all who have served our country my hats off to all who have done so .
As I stated previously it's a disgrace what is going on right now in MY AMERICA a total disgrace. I get highly upset seeing on the news what's going on and hearing about these things that are taking place in our great country.
My thoughts are if a police officer ask you to stop then you need to stop . if ask a question then answer with respect but that's not how from the looks of things a third or better of the morons that live amongst us were raised up. And it's a shame an absolute shame .

If opinions like that cannot be shared on this site where can they be shared and to any moderators or people in charge please do not delete this thread just discussing this happens to be political but we are not arguing or getting out of hand making threats or anything of that nature please keep discussions open and keep this thread going there's no need for it to be deleted as I don't feel anyone has really crossEd the line or gotten carried away as of yet

I'm sure we are all just preaching to each others choirs lol. One thing me, my wife, and my daughter do(who's BF is an LEO) is try to go out of our way when whether we see a LEO or serviceman/woman on the road, in a store, or whatever is to say hi and thanks for what you do. I am far from a rich person but if I have a few extra$ in my wallet and I go into a resteraunt, FF joint, or gas station and there's a uniform there I get the servers or cashiers attention and either pay all or some of the meal or drinks or whatever. Proud dad moment was a couple wks ago we were out for my daughters BFs birthday. We ate our meal and my wife had to go to the restroom so I waited at the table for her while my daughter and the rest of our group went on out. When my wife and I went to leave there were 3 officers at a table. My daughter was already at the cashier paying their ticket. We all just walked by and said our thanks to them and out the door. Unless it's a gas station deal where they standing in line next to us with a soda and candy bar and we just tell them we got it and tell the cashier to ring them up with whatever we have too we don't tell them we just let them find out their bill was paid when they go to leave. I challenge anyone on this forum to do the same when they can.

I do it all the time and believe it or not they figure out who paid it most times I have had them come up to me at other places and thank me for the meal from several days prior

Just glad standing on the street begging for money isn't against the law.....😉

Yes! A huge thanks to all LEO's and military, without law and order I don't want to be on this earth.
I was very saddened to hear about President Washingtons statue in Portland...
And one of the removed statues in Germany was replaced with LENIN!!!!! UGHHH.

You guys are absolutely right too, we can have the right to free speech or the right to not be offended, by definition we can't have both.

This is all heading toward communism the whole world over....I don't mean to preach or get in the way but it's going to happen sometime according to the book of Revelation.

I think it was Ben Franklin who said "a man who would give up a little Liberty for Security deserves neither and loses both" That's my favourite anti socialist quote!

This website and a couple of other nerdy gun sites are my social media footprint. Anything someone posts here politically is mostly "preaching to the choir". No one here needs to be sold on the idea that we are getting rolled by the left right now. The best question is, what can we reasonably do to stop it? This has been a bad year.

Warning! This thread is more than 4 years ago old.
It's likely that no further discussion is required, in which case we recommend starting a new thread. If however you feel your response is required you can still do so.
