I had Ty Shaw @Flatline_Ty rebarrel my rifle to his 300 NMI reamer setup. I also had him do a full build for me after I got the rebarrel back because I wanted a complete build built by him after my intial experience. I haven't received the full build yet, but I just started forming brass and testing loads in the rebarrel he did for me. He has been absolutely excellent to work with and his work is exceptional. I'll document the builds and loads here while I get ready for the upcoming season 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼.

This bronze rifle is already sold to my good buddy, but I'm doing all the forming and load development for him. Just got 120 rounds on the barrel from forming and did a little testing on my last trip doing the full charge forming.

This is the full build he's finishing up for me. The final cerakote will just be black. I'm really looking forward to getting this one!!

These were relatively light charges. Just checking to see it preferred one bullet over the other and some accuracy potential. This is not load development. Just getting some data while fully blowing the case body out and cracking the throat. I got a little more forming to do since I'm just pre forming my brass for my other gun in this barrel also while I got it lol.

But this gun is showing some good promise. So I have no doubt the heavier build I'll be receiving soon will hammer also.

Thanks for the informative post, and great photos (as always)!

I was meaning to ask you about the stock on your new build - that flush mount pic rail is a nice detail.

TS Customs, eh? I'll be looking into that... 👍

Absolutely!

His stock is excellent! I had a non adjustable one on a 6.5 PRC. And decided to go with the adjustable one for this build. He doesn't really sell them. Just uses them for his own builds. But since he's built me 2 rifles and is personal friends with Ty, he sold me one separately 🙌🏼🙌🏼. He said "I'm only doing it because Ty is building your rifle and I trust him to do a good job" hahaha

What made you step down in weight from the 230s?

More manageable recoil and flatter trajectory is all. 230 was just heavy for deer and I didn't gain anything with it over the lighter class bullets, for deer anyways. And this year I'll only have deer tags, so faster and flatter is just better for me as long as I'm still carrying some major killing power.

I was at 3030FPS and .368 BC with the 230
In my old Norma.

I'm planning for a minimum of 3150 fps with a .350 BC in my new Norma with either the 215 or 208 ELDM.

That is outstanding. Have you fired any 300 NM ammo, just to see how your 300 NMI will digest it? Mine will easily shoot Berger factory stuff under MOA. My loads after fireforming tighten up considerably.

You know I actually haven't tried it. From the start I just got all the reloading components individually and have always formed with 225 ELDM's. And I normally stuff them pretty hard into the lands just to avoid any funny business lol. My fire forming loads never really shoot THAT great honestly. Maybe 20-30 shots into 1.5" groups.

It's a Phoenix bipod and it's awesome for load development and just shooting in general. Very stable and adjustable platform. I'll be hunting with an Atlas CAL though.

Do you get any change in your zero or point of impact when you switch back n forth from the Atlas to the Phoenix? I've been looking at those for load work!
