Any suggestions for powder charge to fireform 338 improved lapua? I am using 300 SMK's and retumbo. I would like to use the above for fireforming unless someone has a better idea. Thanks

Boss - just so I understand, I would fill my case 2/3 full of Bullseye, plug the end with cotton (would filling the neck be to much?) and shoot it using large primers.

2/3 is all you need---also the chamber gets hot quick so as soon as you close the bolt pull the trigger to keep the powder from heating up. Have to stop every 5 to 8 rounds to let everything cool off most of the time.

It is a pain but always keep the muzzle up so the powder is next to the primer--want to be consistent or if you pack enouh cotton to keep it from leaking just put the rifle in the rest and carefully insert the brass then fire it pointing downrange.
