I'm very fond of falling block actions from the standpoint of strength, looks and mainly because of size. The ability to pick up extra barrel length, without increasing overall rifle length, seems like it would be a desirable feature in the XLR community. Why is the falling block so rare? Does anyone use this action for building LR rifles?
BTW, just for drool factor, here's someone that is building something else I had long imagined. Makes sense in this application for same reasons as above.
